Meet The Team

Originally from Ireland, David graduated from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 2009 and thereafter completed 2 years of postgraduate training. During this time David gained experience working in general practice and in hospital in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. David continued with his post graduate study and, in 2011, went on to achieve membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

David has a strong commitment to personal development and has further training in advanced restorative and aesthetic techniques completing the respected Advanced Restorative Couse Scotland in 2017 and the provision of C Fast aligners. David is trained in the placement of dental implants and is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology and the International Team for Implantology.

Having spent over 10 years in general practice, David joined his wife Joanne as practice principal in April 2022.

When not playing taxi driver to his 2 children, David loves to get out on his beloved bike and is usually training for his next cycling event!

Joanne graduated with commendation from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 2009. Following graduation she completed 2 year postgraduate training across various dental specialities. During this time Joanne gained experience working in general practice, in hospital in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Public Dental Service, working with anxious patients and those with additional and complex care needs. Joanne continued with her post graduate study and, in 2011, went on to achieve membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Joanne joined the practice in Laird Street in 2013 and spent 10 years as an associate dentist. Lagan Dental Care was established in April 2022 when, along with her husband David, they took over the practice as principals.

Joanne is committed to providing the highest quality of family dentistry and endeavours to make your experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Over the past decade Joanne has loved establishing relationships with her patients and always enjoys a good catch up when they pop in for their treatment.

A familiar face to some of our longstanding patients! John was the principal of the practice until 2022 before handing over the reins to David and Joanne.

Following in his father’s footsteps, John graduated from Dundee Dental School in 1980. He joined the family practice in Partick, working alongside his father and eventually taking over as practice principal then latterly in Bank Street and Laird Street Coatbridge.

Whilst no longer operating in surgery John continues his role as one of Lanarkshire’s Enhanced Domiciliary Dentists serving multiple care homes in the area.
